Preparing for Harvest Festival

Tynron’s Kirk will be open tomorrow for the first time in many years. Volunteers have decorated it with foliage and berries in a Harvest Festival theme. There will be music in the church whilst visitors admire the decor and local produce on display.

Moniaive Flower Show

Our first visit to Moniaive Flower Show did not disappoint. The display of flowers, vegetables, baking and crafts was amazing. These photos do not do justice to to the riot of colour and breadth of creativity. Well done everyone. The obligatory Afternoon Tea was very toothsome too!

Moniaive Flower Show

The 137th Moniaive Flower Show will take place on Saturday 27th August at Macara Park, Moniaive.  Exhibits will include Flowers, Vegetables, Fruit, Decorative, Baking & Preserves, Handicrafts and Childrens Classes. The event opens at 1.30pm with presentation of trophies at 2.00pm.   For more information go to: http://www.moniaiveflowershow.com/index.html

Another Wedding

We were surprised and delighted to find out that this weeks guests at Ghillie’s Bothy were ‘running away’ to Gretna to get married mid week. Some fizz and cakes to welcome them back as Mr and Mrs!
